For decades the Burmese military has been oppressing the Rohingya. Now another army is doing the same.
The Arakha Army is fighting to free Arakan state from the Burmese military, and they have taken over almost all the state, which is where most Rohingya live.
But they are also committing many of the same human rights violations against the Rohingya as the Burmese military did.
Documented human rights abuses by the Arakha Army include massacres, mass detention, torture, beheadings, mass expulsion of people from homes and villages, looting, blocking people from work or gathering food, extortion, forced recruitment, aid restrictions, rape, forced labour and burning people alive who were locked into their homes.
Tell the British government to act now to pressure the Arakha Army. Email the British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper today.
