Dear President Biden and President Macron
We are appalled that almost one year on from the military coup in Burma, you are refusing to impose sanctions to stop gas revenue going to the Burmese military.
For decades the Burmese military have been committing violations of international law, including war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
Since the military coup, they now receive revenue from gas and this has helped them fund the brutal human rights violations committed since the coup, including killing more than 1,300 people, forcing more than 300,000 to flee their homes, and arresting more than 10,000 people.
These are human rights violations funded by American and French companies because of your refusal to impose gas revenue sanctions.
Please act now to end American and French complicity in violations of international law in Burma. Impose gas revenue sanctions now!
